Appointments are 53-minutes, which is the standard length for an individual therapy session.

Therapy can be either short or long-term depending on your goals and what is brining you to counseling. Ultimately, my hope is that you gain the insight, skills and confidence to no longer need therapy. There isn’t a set number of sessions that works for everyone as we each heal at our own pace. Throughout our work together, we’ll regularly check-in about your progress and whether therapy continues to meet your needs.

At this time, I offer virtual therapy only through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Many clients appreciate the convenience and flexibility of meeting from the comfort of their own space.

Absolutely! I value collaboration and believe it often leads to more cohesive care. If you’d like me to communicate with your psychiatrist, dietician, physician, coach, or another provider, I’ll ask you to complete a called a Release of Information (ROI) so that I have your written permission to coordinate with them.

You may request copies of your mental health records by submitting a written request to records@selfreliancecounselingtx.com with the subject line REQUEST FOR RECORDS. Please include your full name, date of birth, the specific records you are requesting, and preferred delivery method (email, client portal, or mail). A signed authorization is required if records are being released to a third party. Requests are processed in accordance with applicable Texas and federal law.
